Message from Dennis:

"Keeping the Peace and Your Trust" is not just a campaign slogan, it is my way of life.

Ventura County has been my lifelong home. My wife, Shirley, and I have raised our family here. My parents taught me by example the importance of public service and integrity. My father served for over 30 years on the city council of Port Hueneme. It has been my honor to serve the people of Ventura County through a career in law enforcement that spans more than 36 years. For over 32 of those years, I have proudly served with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department and been selected to lead its key units.

I am dedicated to keeping Ventura County and its people safe and secure in the face of uncertain and challenging times. Budget pressures and the never-ending fight against crime demand that we select a proven and experienced law enforcement professional who brings integrity, intelligence and commitment to the position of Ventura County Sheriff.

I believe that my hands-on experience, my tried and proven leadership and consensus building skills, and my dedication to Ventura County and its people make me the best choice for Ventura County Sheriff in 2010.
